  1. The first step is brief a complimentary phone conversation so that you can ask any questions you may have and I can learn more about your practice. Among the key items is where you like to focus your time and where you feel you could use some help.

  2. If it seems there may be a fit, I would ask you to provide some metrics on your practice to gauge the intensity of the services you may need. I have a structured questionnaire I like to use when appropriate. This is also a time for you to home in on the services you believe make sense for you. I have learned that if clients to rank and identify them as “must-have”, “would-like-to-have” and “nice-to-have”, the decision making is much easier. We will also quantify the stakes in terms of cost and time savings.

  3. Finally, I will prepare a brief proposal with firm pricing and ROI analysis.

We can begin any time you are ready. It is usually a good idea to begin well in advance of quarter end and before year end. It is also a good idea to think about your next rebalancing date. It is much easier for you and your clients to have portfolio changes coincide with rebalancing.
